Car Insurance Chevrolet (Car Insurance). I just installed a panasonic cq-rx12 head unit into my car, now I have 2 problems...?I just installed a panasonic cq-rx12 head unit into my car, now I have 2 problems...? 1. There are random short pauses in the music (radio, aux and cd) 2. My car seems to stall very briefly while im driving when I put the headlights on (sort of bucks, the stereo turns off and back on immediately) then continues to drive normally (this only started after installing the new head unit) I used wiring harnesses, so why do you think these things would be happening? Appreciate your help correction. you have three problems something is cooked, see a auto elec for diagnosis, could be bad relay (shorted out inside) - could be an earthing prob you can run a wire from head unit earth (is one visible as separate) to a metal part of car Yea I agree with Cameron.I had a similar problem. I installed a Pioneer head unit I think and I fried my fuse box some how. It worked like you are saying for awhile then driving home 1 day it started smoking any just shut off. I would check all the fuse boxes and the wire harness you used. Auto parts : FM Transmitter Acura 1995 . Fabric Top Care Alfa Romeo 1996 . Fan Blade Audi 1997 . Fan Clutch Wrench BMW 1998 . Chevrolet . How to Use an Air Impact WrenchUsing an impact wrench can make life easier for both professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Whether you're rebuilding an engine, doing suspension work or changing a tire, using a regular socket wrench, followed by checking individual torque settings, can be time-consuming and tiring. An air-driven hand-held impact wrench will allow you to get more work done in less time. It also will cause less bodily fatigue, which leads to loss of concentration and productivity. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Air-driven impact wrench Air compressor and hose Air tool lubricant Six-point impact socket Eye protection Step by Step : 1 Turn the air compressor on and set the pressure regulator to between 90 to 100 lbs. per square inch (psi). 2 Insert the air hose quick release coupling into the air compressor outlet and check for leaks. Lay out the air hose. Make sure there aren't any kinks or worn spots on the hose. 3 Lubricate the impact wrench by inserting four to six drops of air tool lubricant into the air inlet located on the butt of the impact wrench. Daily lubrication is essential to protect the high speed ball bearings on the tool's turbine drive shaft. 4 Connect the air hose. Press the trigger two or three times to disperse the oil. Turn the direction setting by operating the lever above the trigger with your thumb. Check for correct clockwise and anticlockwise rotation. 5 Plug the correct six-point impact socket onto the square tool lug located on the front of the impact wrench. 6 Follow the manufacturer's instructions and adjust the torque setting on the impact wrench to the correct working range for the size of impact socket in use. Tips & Warnings Cordless impact wrenches and impact drivers suitable for home use are readily available. Do not use regular chrome vanadium sockets on an impact wrench. These sockets are made of a strong but brittle alloy. High impact forces will cause them to explode; the resultant shrapnel could cause life-threatening injury. Impact sockets are made of a more malleable material, such as a molybdenum steel alloy. The sockets are thicker and have a stronger six-point design. They also have a black Parkerized finish as applied to firearms, instead of brittle chrome plating, which is susceptible to shattering under impact. Wear eye protection when using an impact wrench.
Chevrolet . How to Remove a Mercury FlywheelThe flywheel on an outboard will need to be removed when repairs are needed such as the motor not starting properly. In order to access the crankshaft of the motor the flywheel will need to be removed from the engine. You can remove the flywheel from a mercury outboard motor by keeping the flywheel stationary and using a special tool called a flywheel puller. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Bolts Pry bar Impact wrench Flywheel puller Adjustable wrench Socket wrench Step by Step : 1 Unlatch the clips that are used to secure the cover and take the cover off the motor. 2 Locate the flywheel cover in the motor and remove it to expose the flywheel. 3 Insert two bolts into the threaded holes on top of the flywheel. Insert a pry bar in between the bolts so you can prevent the flywheel from turning. 4 Loosen the flywheel nut by using an impact wrench. Once the nut is loose remove the impact wrench and turn the flywheel nut by hand to remove it. 5 Thread the flywheel puller onto the flywheel and tighten it with an adjustable wrench. 6 Insert a socket wrench into the bolt on the flywheel puller. Turn the socket wrench to the right until the flywheel comes off the crankshaft. Tips & Warnings If you cannot find a flywheel that is specific to a mercury you can use a universal flywheel puller. Do not strike the bolt in the center of the flywheel puller with a hammer or other object because you can damage the crankshaft. *" I • ^ PointLower arm ^^ B W of load Toe involves placing your tires so that they are properly positioned parallel to the frame when driving down the road. Some cars call for a little toe-in (tires pointing inward— see Figure 19-6), while others are set with a little toe-out (tires pointing outward). The result should be a nice, straight track when the car is moving quickly. On some front-wheel drive cars, the manufacturer may set the rear tires with a little toe-in and the front tires with a little toe-out so that the tires are parallel to the frame when the vehicle is in motion. 910

Mazda Miata MX-5. * -* Distance at front (l 1 (x '>art'"" Keeping ^our ^ar m ^00(' Condition, System by System * Turning radius is the relation of one front wheel to the other on turns. If you turn to the right, the right front tire needs to turn at a slightly greater angle than the left front tire. Your car's steering arms accommodate this feat. (See Figure 19-7.) If your tires "squeal" sharply on turns, one of your car's steering arms may be your problem. How do you know if your wheels need aligning? Look at your tires to see whether they show any of the tread-wear patterns that I discuss in "Checking your tires for wear," and pay attention to how your car steers and handles. Does it pull to one side? Does the steering feel loose and sloppy? Is your car hard to handle after a turn? If your tires show any unusual wear patterns and/or you answered yes to any of these questions, your car probably needs an alignment. Chevrolet . Just stand outside your vehicle, near the door on the driver's side. Stick your hand through the open window and move the steering wheel, with your eye on the left front tire. If you can move the steering wheel at all before the tire starts to move, then you need to have both your steering and alignment checked. There should be no "play" in the steering wheel before the signal is transmitted to the tires. As you drive your car, be alert to signs that it isn't handling as easily as before. If the vehicle seems to have a mind of its own and begins to resist you on turns (and pulling out of turns), take a good look at your tires for signs of wear caused by misalignment. Checking your tires for tiear You should check your tires for wear at least once a month and before and after long trips. To determine whether you need to (a) buy new tires, (b) have your wheels balanced, (c) have your wheels aligned, or (d) change your driving habits, simply read your tire treads for clues.
